Mark was christened in the first ecumenical church in Livingston at the Lanthorn Community Centre by the Reverend Joan Ryland. Donna Calgie, my cousin, was his godmother. He was a christening gown bought by Donna, a shawl crocheted by me and a cape crocheted by his great grandmother, Maisie O'Brien. I really didn't like the cape but my mother insisted. It was possibly the last thing Maisie ever crocheted because her eyesight was failing badly.
